La maggior parte della sua struttura risale al 1711 o prima e il suo interno è ricoperto di graffiti di mugnai che vi hanno lavorato in passato. È un edificio di interesse storico culturale di II grado e un monumento antico programmato. Il ponte situato sul fiume Scrivia, una delle arterie dell'omonima valle, è una struttura lunga circa 160 metri ed è divisa in 7 campate con archi ribassati, in cemento armato. Costruito agli inizi del 1900, è servito per anni da ponte stradale e ferroviario.
