Estimate cable tension from vibration frequencies
Estimate the tension of stays and cables from their natural vibration frequencies, reusing the dynamic accelerometers already installed

Tension with no additional sensors
Generate the tension estimate of stays and cables from the natural vibration frequencies monitored by accelerometers already installed on your structure.
MyMove uses the relation between mode order and frequency to derive the tension of cables automatically. Taking advantage of already existing FDD groups, it needs no dedicated instrumentation. Compare tension over time, axis by axis and mode by mode, with full calculation traceability.

Structural analysis outputs
Current tension
The latest overall tension estimated for each cable, computed as the arithmetic mean across valid axes and expressed in kN.
Tension trend over time
A chart showing how the cable's overall tension evolves across the selected period.
Per-axis and per-mode detail
For each event, the frequency points of the assigned modes with their regression, the tension computed on each axis, and the tension derived from a single mode.
From frequency to tension
Using the ideal taut-string model, the tool calculates the proportionality of each modal frequency to the mode order, which is set by the cable tension, together with its linear mass (μ) and free length (L).
Automatic recalculation
Once you set up the tool, every change to modes, parameters, or the displayed axis recomputes tension and charts in real time. With up to 50 cables per project.
Documented tension history
Every daily FDD run produces an event in the cable's history. Move between the events to inspect the point series and regression, the timestamp and computed tension, and the values of the labeled frequencies.
Application areas
Cable-stayed bridges
Estimate and monitor stay tension over time, comparing campaigns and catching variations between cables
Suspension bridges
Derive the tension of main cables and hangers from frequencies already acquired for dynamic analysis
Tied-arch bridges
Track hanger tension on arches and network arches, event after event
Tie-rods and tension bars
Assess the tension of tie-rods and bars from their natural frequencies, with nothing to dismantle
Tensile structures and roofs
Apply the same workflow to stadium roofs and long-span structures where cables are load-bearing elements
Towers and guyed structures
Estimate the tension of guy cables on towers, masts, and antennas
Construction stages and temporary stays
Verify the tension of temporary stays during launching and construction phases
Custom applications
Bring the same method to special geometries and setups that need a repeatable, comparable estimate
