New Accelerometer v5 for high-fidelity modal analysis

The new Accelerometer v5 redefines structural monitoring, capturing from low-amplitude ambient excitation to seismic-level events, and keeping every waveform on board. Cleaner input, better modes for modal analysis.

What changed

We made upgrades that redefine what a wireless structural accelerometer can do in the field.

new max range
±8.192 g
x4
Previous max range
±2.048 g

4× wider range

Events that saturated the previous versions are well within spec for the v5. Blast, piling, seismic: the same device handles all of it without reconfiguring.

new min range
±128 mg
x4
Previous min range
±512 mg

4× more sensitive

At ±128 mg, resolution drops to 3.9 µg. Micro-vibrations the previous versions couldn't resolve are now measurable. Essential for ambient vibration testing and modal analysis.

new max buffer
16,384
x2
Previous max buffer
8,192

2× deeper buffer

More samples per acquisition means longer, more complete waveforms. At 80 Hz the v5 captures over 3 minutes of continuous data per event.

new storage
60,000+

New on-board storage

Up to 60,000 events with waveform, 250,000 without. Data stays safe even in underground or remote sites with intermittent connectivity.

Improve your modes with better data

Your modal output is only as good as the data feeding it. The v5 improves that data in three ways, and each one shows up directly in the modes you compute for a client.

Catch the weakest signals

Operational modal analysis runs on ambient excitation, low-amplitude by nature. At its ±512 mg setting the v5 resolves it instead of letting the modes sink into the noise floor.

Register stronger events

A seismic event clips a sensor capped at ±2.048 g. Seven ranges up to ±8.192 g keep the full peak in the record, on the same device, with no reconfiguring.

Reduce packet loss

When the link drops on a remote structure, on-board storage for 60,000 events with waveform holds the data instead of losing it.

Synchronized waveforms to mode shapes

The Modal Analysis Tool in MyMove takes the synchronized data from your Accelerometer v5 network and extracts the structural response your engineers work with.

The v5 was built for this. Its resolution captures micro-vibrations missed by other sensors. With up to 16,384 samples per acquisition, the waveforms going into the tool are long enough to extract reliable results without truncating windows and approximations.

What comes out:

  • Mode shapes — how your structure deforms at each natural frequency
  • Natural frequencies — where the structure resonates under load
  • Damping ratios — how quickly energy dissipates after excitation

All computed natively in myMove. No external software. No data export. Same platform, same dataset, same moment.
