Frequently asked questions

The DECKTLT2-STD measures static tilt in two orthogonal axes with a nominal accuracy of 0.005 degrees and repeatability of +/-0.0005 degrees. This accuracy is guaranteed only under stable thermal and mechanical conditions, with the device rigidly installed on level and non-flexible surfaces. Deviations may occur if installed on vibrating elements or in non-uniform environments. Accuracy is further enhanced by onboard signal averaging and factory calibration.

While primarily designed for static and quasi-static applications, the device includes a triaxial MEMS accelerometer that enables motion-triggered acquisition based on tilt variation, vibration intensity, or angular velocity. It is not intended for continuous high-frequency dynamic recording, such as seismic or impact events, but can report peak and RMS vibration values as context for tilt measurements.

Users can configure the acquisition schedule remotely via the MyMove platform. It supports periodic sampling at fixed intervals (e.g., every 15 or 30 minutes) and conditional acquisition triggered by threshold exceedance. Minimum interval is 1 minute. The system allows flexible reconfiguration at any time without physical access to the sensor.

The device transmits encrypted data packets via LoRaWAN (868 or 902 MHz) to the nearest Move Solutions gateway. Data is then forwarded to the MyMove cloud platform via LTE or Ethernet. Adaptive data rate ensures optimized energy consumption based on link quality. The communication is bidirectional, supporting OTA firmware updates and remote commands.

The Tiltmeter is IP67-rated for outdoor, long-term use and operates from –40 °C to +85 °C with a full ±180° measurement range. It must be mounted securely using appropriate hardware on rigid surfaces. Proper alignment and leveling during installation are essential to ensure valid results. Installation in locations with significant RF shielding or thermal drift should be avoided.
